POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of IT will be responsible for all aspects of IT Operations for Heineken Americas building on the established areas in Heineken USA, including corporate network, systems, telecom, data center operations and service mgmt. He/she will play a critical role in providing guidance and owning the infrastructure road map for growth as well as being responsible for the business on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be a technically competent, hands-on self starter with strong communication and leadership skills. He/she must work with multiple project teams simultaneously and thrive in a high performance, and very fast-paced, dynamic environment.
In addition, this position will play a critical role in a current initiative and evolution to centralize and standardize infrastructure and support across a newly formed Regional IT organization to include USA, Caribbean and Central America.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide high quality and excellent technical leadership. Recommend, design, and implement technology infrastructure initiatives and solutions in WAN/LAN, internet, networking, mail/messaging, remote access & mobility, virtualization, telecom, VoIP, data warehouse, etc.
• Evaluate current IT Infrastructure and identify technologies to improve security, scalability, and reliability of the overall environment.
• Manage the continuous improvement and upgrades for the operational environment. Ensure all new implementations and upgrades are put through a robust QA and Change Control process ensuring continuous smooth service. Ensure all migrations and upgrades are effective with minimal disruption to users.
• Manage a team of internal/external IT professionals to support, monitor and improve the overall network, infrastructure and operational capacity/performance.
• Coordinate and collaborate with global, regional and other service teams to develop and test new technical solutions for the business. Pro-actively seek out new and innovative technologies/best practices for potential evaluation and incorporation.
• Provide IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Insure IT security and lead and participate in internal/external audits as required.
• Develop and monitor metrics to measure performance and availability and make necessary improvements.
• Manage and ensure compliance with global IT central group policies, procedures and best practices.
• Participate in global and regional IT initiatives and projects.
• Evaluate and negotiate purchase of new hardware and related software.
• Evaluate potential IT service providers as needed.
• Manage ongoing vendor relations and service level agreements in order to insure the vendor is providing optimal service and costs.
• Contribute to the development and closing of new SLAs with vendors, suppliers and 3rd parties. Monitor and improve the quality of the delivered services, in line with IT guidelines and standards, to ensure the performance of the SLA is realised within the agreed conditions.
• Manage & track budget.
• Evolve the technology skill set base inline with ongoing market developments thru formal training and informal peer training.
• Ensure an open attitude to new and innovative technology solutions and leverage effective engagements with third party partnerships where appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:
• 8-10 years of experience in IT with a minimum of 3 years in a management and people leadership role.
• Broad and extensive IT technical and operational knowledge of WAN/LAN technologies including Windows server 2003 & 2008, Active Directory, MS Exchange, Lotus Notes, MPLS/Network, Virtualization technologies VMware, Remote access, WAN acceleration, Telecom, VoIP, Internet, etc.
• Strong people management and mentoring skills.
• Experience managing IT Operations for 1000+ users.
• Results driven, ability to wear multiple hats, and lead projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to simultaneously maintain a big picture view while being detail oriented.
• Energetic individual, who welcomes challenge and is able to work in a fast-moving, quick response, demanding, flexible, environment.
• Flexible, willing to accept business and technology change. He/she must be a team player, capable of independent work, study and analysis.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to build and maintain effective business relationships.
• A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Spanish language is a plus

Location: White Plains
Compensation: low six figure base-20% bonus, 401k-medical, dental, monthly allowance
